4 oz Philadelphia cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

2 tsp vanilla extract (or vanilla bean paste for a gourmet touch)

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

Step 1: Cream the Base

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese together until light and fluffy. Add the sugar and beat again until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Step 2: Add the Vanilla and Egg

Crack in the egg and stir in the vanilla extract. Mix well until everything is fully incorporated.

Step 3: Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix—this is what keeps the cookies tender.

Step 4: Chill the Dough

Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This step helps prevent the cookies from spreading too much and enhances the flavor.

Step 5: Bake to Perfection

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are just barely golden. The centers should still look soft—don’t overbake!

Step 6: Cool and Enjoy

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Enjoy them warm or store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
