I saw the first sour cherries at the market today and had to buy them.

Some we ate right away (of course 😄), but the rest… went into a jar with pits to start a proper Polish Wiśniówka — homemade sour cherry liqueur!

Step 1: Fill a jar with fresh sour cherries (un-pitted!) and pour in high-proof alcohol. Let it rest for 2–3 weeks to soak up all that rich cherry flavor
