Root beer float Whiskey gummies

1 cup root beer

1/2 cup whiskey

2 packets (0.25 ounces each) unflavored gelatin

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup heavy cream

In a medium saucepan, combine the root beer and whiskey over medium heat. Stir gently until warm, but do not bring to a boil.

[maybe try not adding whiskey until after sugar has dissolved, off the heat]

Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over the warm root beer mixture and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.

After blooming, whisk in the granulated sugar and vanilla extract until fully dissolved.

Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.

Pour the mixture into silicone gummy molds, filling each cavity about halfway.

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Carefully spoon or pipe the whipped cream into the gummy molds to fill them completely.

Refrigerate the molds for at least 2 hours or until the gummies are fully set.

Once set, gently remove the gummies from the molds and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
