Garlic Butter Salmon

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

1 tablespoon olive oil

Pat the salmon fillets dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Place the salmon fillets skin-side up and sear for 4-5 minutes until golden brown.

Flip the salmon and cook for another 3-4 minutes until just cooked through; remove salmon from skillet and set aside.

Reduce heat to medium, add butter and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).

Stir in lemon juice and lemon zest, then return salmon to the skillet, spooning the garlic butter sauce over the fillets.

Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to let flavors meld.

Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
