Hot Buttered Rum

Butter Batter

2 sticks of butter

2 cups brown sugar

1/2tsp cinnamon

1/2tsp clove 1

/2tsp black pepper

1/2tsp nutmeg

1/2tsp allspice

1tsp vanilla extract

Make the Batter (can be made ahead of time)

In a sauce pan over low heat, whisk together all ingredients except for vanilla. Keep stirring until the butter and sugar have become one and there's no longer a layer of butter floating on the surface.

Turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let cool slightly before pouring into a sealable container

• 2 tbsp buttered rum batter

• 6oz hot water
