  1. 1 tbsp olive oil

  2. 1 cup diced onion

  3. 1/2 cup diced celery

  4. 3 cloves garlic

  5. 1 quart chicken broth, plus more as needed

  6. 1 (28-oz) can crushed San Marzano tomatoes, or about 3 1/2 cups of other crushed tomatoes

  7. 1/2 tsp paprika

  8. 3 tbsp white long grain rice

  9. 1/2 cup heavy cream

  10. 1 or 2 tsp suqgar, or to taste

  11. salt and pepper to taste

  12. cayenne to taste

  13. basil to garnish

  1. 1. Sweat onion and celery

  2. Add garlic a couple minutes before adding broth

  3. Add broth and crushed tomatoes

  4. On high heat bring to an active simmer

  5. Add salt, pepper, cayenne and paprika

  6. Once at a simmer add rice

  7. Reduce to medium-low heat to maintain active simmer

  8. Simmer for 40 minutes

  9. Reduce heat to low

  10. Check for taste, add salt and sugar to taste

  11. Add to blender

  12. Once blended add cream
