Creamy Swiss Steak

Ingredienti

Cubes Steak 1 1/2 pounds

Butter 4 tablespoons

Flour, All-Purpose 1/2 cup

Salt 1 teaspoon

Pepper 1 teaspoon

Carrots, peeled 4 each

Onions, peeled 1 small

Cream of Mushroom soup 2 cans - 10.5 oz

Oregano 1 tsp

Garlic powder 1 tsp

Istruzioni

Start by gathering all of your ingredients.

Combine the flour with the seasoned salt and pepper in a plastic bag.

Add one or two pieces of the steak to the bag. Shake, shake, and shake some more! It’s equally important to make sure that the cubed steak is evenly coated with flour so when you take the steak out of the bag, shake the meat to take off any excess flour.

Melt a few tablespoons of butter in fry pan. When the pan is hot add two or three pieces of the tenderized steak in a single layer. Definitely add little pats of butter around the steak when cooking to keep the pan from drying up.

Brown on each side, then set aside. Repeat...

First, peel and cut carrots and onion into large chunks.

Second, place vegetable pieces and about two tablespoons of water into the chopper attachment and grind until all pieces are chopped into uniform size.

In a medium sized bowl add the cans of cream of mushroom soup with the chopped vegetables along with a can full of cold water. Flavor the swiss steak gravy with garlic powder and oregano 1 tsp of each. Stir all ingredients until incorporated.

Line a half sheet pan with foil.

Start by covering the foil with the swiss steak gravy. Place one layer of the steak overtop of the gravy and add another layer of gravy.

Cover the pan with another sheet of foil tucked in and form several vent holes in the covering foil with a sharp knife.

Place in oven at 300°F for 2 ½ hours.

I check at 1 ½ hrs and baste the meat with the gravy.

Meat is done when it is fork tender.

Remove meat from pan and set aside.

Drain gravy into a metal mixing bowl.

Add 1 Tbsp Instant Clear Gel to ½ C cold water and blend with immersion blender.

Slowly add the Instant Clear Gel mixture to the gravy and blend with immersion blender. You can add additional ClearJel as desired to increase how thick the gravy is.

Serve with mashed potatoes.
