BEAN CASSEROLE

1 Can Yellow Beans (wax beans)
1 Can Green Beans
1 Can Butter Beans
1 Can Kidney Beans
1 Can Pork & Beans
1 Can Hot Chili Beans
1-2 C Onion - chopped
1 C Celery chopped
1 1/2 Lb Hot sausage or Ground beef or Sweet sausage (or any combo thereof)
1 Can Tomato soup
1 Can Tomato paste (the small can)
1 Jar Medium Picante Sauce (the smaller jar, not the tall one)
1 C Brown sugar
2 Tbsp Prepared mustard
Istruzioni
Fry sausage with onions and celery until browned and drain well.
Drain the cans of yellow beans, green beans, butter beans, and kidney beans only.
Do not drain the pork and beans or the hot chili beans, but add them to the rest of the meat and beans.
Mix all of this in a large bowl (I use a slow cooker - perfect for get-togethers, potlucks, etc.)
Cook tomato soup, tomato paste, picante sauce, brown sugar, and mustard on stove for 15 minutes, then pour over meat and bean mixture.
Bake at 350F for 40-45 minutes. But, as I wrote, I prefer a slow cooker. I don't believe I've ever baked this in the oven.
Note
I usually just chop a medium sized onion for this and 3 stalks of celery. And, I like the tang that mustard gives it, so I usually am generous with that. Obviously a recipe like this is open to customization, so adjust quantities and ingredients as you like.
