YELLOW CAKE - GRANDMA'S

Ingredienti

1 1/2 C Granulated sugar

1/2 C Butter

4 Eggs - separated into whites and yolks

3/4 C Milk

2 C Cake flour

2 1/2 tsp Baking powder

1 tsp Vanilla

Istruzioni

Beat egg whites and add 1/2 of sugar.

Set this aside and put in refrigerator. (It is not used until last)

Cream the butter, then the other 1/2 of the sugar and the egg YOLKS. Add vanilla.

Add baking powder to flour and mix well.

Add flour and milk to the butter, sugar, and egg YOLK mixture, alternating.

Begin and end with flour: flour-milk-flour.

Finally, add beaten egg white/sugar mixture into flour mixture. (I'll assume this is to be folded in and not beaten)

Place in two 9 inch cake pans and bake at 350F for 40-45 minutes.

Note

This is Grandma Van's yellow cake and is one of my favorite cakes! She always iced it with this very thin coat of white frosting. That recipe is currently missing. But any chocolate or white frosting would work.
