Caramel Corn

1/2 c raw popcorn (2 quarts)
1 1/2 c sugar
1/6 tsp cream of tartar
5 tbsp + 1 tsp boiling water (exact)
2 tsp butter
1/3 tsp baking soda
Istruzioni
Have popcorn ready - popped in large clean dishpan.
Stir together sugar, tartar & water until sugar dissolved. Boil 5 minutes. Do not stir.
Remove THE INSTANT it turns carmel color.
Stir in baking soda & butter.
At once pour over popcorn in fine stream. Be sure not to burn yourself - very hot, but at once toss with 2 forks to coat corn.
As soon as can be handled lift out handfuls & spread on cookie sheets or will harden in a mass.
