Bologna Sandwich

Hozzávalók

2–3 slices thick-cut bologna

1 small onion, sliced

Salt and pepper, to taste

1–2 tbsp bacon grease (or butter/oil)

2 slices white bread

1–2 slices cheddar or American cheese

A handful of BBQ chips, lightly crushed

A drizzle of hot honey

Útmutatók

Sauté the onions

Heat bacon grease in a skillet over medium heat.

Add sliced onions, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until golden and soft.

Fry the bologna

In the same skillet, fry the bologna slices until browned.

Once flipped, pile some of the sautéed onions directly on top of the bologna slices in the pan.

Immediately lay cheese slices over the onion-topped bologna so they melt and hold everything together.

Assemble the sandwich

Transfer each cheesy bologna-and-onion stack onto a slice of bread.

Sprinkle a layer of crushed BBQ chips on top.

Drizzle with hot honey to taste.

Close the sandwich with the second slice of bread.

Optional: Toast the sandwich in the skillet for a few minutes per side for extra crunch.
