Ingredients: This cocktail was created by Meaghan Dorman (@gingerrickey). It is a nice twist on a Mai Tai with the addition of an amaro. This recipe was modified by @catsdontdrinkcocktails who decided to wash Averna with the coconut oil (it’s easy, see below.). This adds an extra layer of flavor and mouthfeel. That said, the original is also a banger!; ACROSS THE PACIFIC 🐡; 1 oz. / 30 ml. aged Jamaican rum; ½ oz. / 15 ml. overproof Jamaican rum; ½ oz. / 15 ml. (coconut fat washed) Averna; ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. fresh lime juice; ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. orgeat; COCONUT FAT WASHED AVERNA; 4 oz. Averna; 1 oz. melted coconut oil; pour oil into Averna / stir / let sit for a few hours or longer / I occasionally stir to ensure Averna makes even contact / refrigerate / fine strain out oil / store in sealed bottle

add all ingredients to shaker tin / add a small amount of crushed ice and whip shake or flash blend / dirty dump into glass / top with crushed or pebble ice / garnish with mint bouquet after slapping it to express oils
