Homemade Hawaiian Rolls

Hawaiian Roll Recipe

1 cup warm water

2 and 1/4 teaspoons yeast (1 standard packet)

1/3 cup honey

1/4 cup avocado oil

1 teaspoon salt

3 cups all-purpose flour

2 Tablespoons melted butter (for on top of rolls)

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and honey. Stir lightly and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and oil.

Add the frothy yeast mixture to the bowl and mix well.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 2-3 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

Shape into 12 ball shapes and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cover the shaped rolls with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for 30-45 minutes, or until puffy.

Gently brush the rolls with the melted butter before placing them in the oven Preheat your oven to 375°F Bake the rolls for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

While the rolls are still warm, brush them with the remaining melted butter.

Once cooled slice through the entire section of 12 rolls and layer ham, mayo, and cheese.

Place the top half of the rolls back on top and put back in the oven for 8-10 minutes!

Pull apart and enjoy!
