Pizza Bread

Ingrédients

1 French bread loaf or baguette

½ cup pizza sauce

1 cup toppings (such as pepperoni, sliced olives, minced cooked broccoli, very thinly sliced raw mushrooms, or cooked

Italian sausage; optional)

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

¼ cup grated

Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon pizza seasoning

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.

2. Cut the bread in half, horizontally, and then each half in half, widthwise, to make four pieces. Place them on a baking sheet.

3. Evenly divide the pizza sauce on the bread, spreading it to the edges. Add your choice of toppings. Top with the mozzarella, Parmesan, and pizza seasoning.

4. Bake the pizzas for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is just starting to brown. Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute or two.

5. Using a serrated knife or kitchen scissors, cut the pizzas into individual pieces to serve.

NOTES

• For a burst of freshness, sprinkle with minced parsley after pulling from the oven. • Use gluten-free bread and nondairy cheese as needed. • Let the kids add their own mix of toppings to personalize this meal... if you have the energy to have more cooks in the kitchen!
