1 lb carne asada (skirt steak or flank steak), grilled and chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 bag frozen French fries (or homemade fries)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup guacamole
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup pico de gallo
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
Instructions
Cook the fries: Prepare the French fries according to package instructions or your favorite homemade recipe. Set aside.
Prepare the carne asada: Season the steak with salt, pepper, and chili powder. Grill over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness. Let rest for 5 minutes, then chop into bite-sized pieces.
Assemble the fries: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the cooked fries onto a baking sheet and sprinkle with shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. Top with the chopped carne asada.
Bake: Place the fries in the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Add toppings: Remove from the oven and top with guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, and fresh cilantro.
