Chicken Burgers

500 g (1 lb) ground chicken

100 g (3.5 oz) feta cheese, crumbled

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small red onion, very finely diced

1 tbsp fresh oregano, finely chopped (or 1 tsp dried)

1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

1 tbsp fresh dill or mint (optional but very Greek)

Zest of 1 lemon

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tsp dried oregano (if not using fresh)

½ tsp paprika

½ tsp ground cumin (optional)

Salt & black pepper, to taste

1 tbsp olive oil

To Serve (Optional but Recommended)

Toasted brioche or pita buns

Tzatziki sauce

Sliced cucumber & tomato

Red onion slices

Lettuce or arugula

Instrucciones

Make the Burger Mix

In a large bowl, gently combine ground chicken, feta, garlic, red onion, herbs, lemon zest and juice, spices, salt, pepper, and olive oil.

Mix just until combined—do not overwork or burgers will be dense.

Shape into 4 equal patties.

Chill for 10 minutes if time allows (helps them hold together).

Cook the Burgers

Pan-fry or Grill:

Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat.

Lightly oil the surface.

Cook burgers for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through (internal temp 74°C / 165°F).

Rest for 2 minutes.

Serving Ideas

Classic Burger: Bun + tzatziki + chicken burger + salad.

Pita Wrap: Stuff into warm pita with cucumber, tomato, and sauce.

Low-Carb Plate: Serve over Greek salad with extra feta and olives.

Tips & Variations

Add sun-dried tomatoes or Kalamata olives for extra Mediterranean punch.

Swap feta for halloumi for a firmer bite.

Use chicken thigh mince for extra juiciness.

These burgers freeze beautifully—uncooked or cooked.
