Golden Baked French Toast

1/3 cup orange juice

1 teaspoon grated orange peel

4 eggs

1/2 teaspoons cardamom

1/4 cup salted butter

French bread sliced 1/2-3/4” thick

Combine all the ingredients except the bread and beat well.

Melt butter in 9x13x2” glass pan in the oven as it starts to preheat to 450 degrees. Remove the pan from the oven just before it is totally melted so it doesn’t pop all over-watch carefully.

Dip the bread in the egg mixture and place each piece in a single layer in the pan.

Bake at 450 degrees for 5 minutes, turn the pieces over and bake another 5 minutes.

I usually 1 1/2 times this recipe and bake on a large Norco cookie sheet.
