Lotus Seed Congee

3.52 ounces (100 grams) lotus seeds
1/2 cup (100 grams) Japonica rice
2.82 ounces (80 grams) lily bulbs
sugar to taste
Anweisungen
1. Wash lily bulbs. Slice off top and bottom portion of bulbs. Remove petals. Blanch in boiling water briefly and then remove from water. Soak for 1 hr.
2. Deshell lotus seeds. Soak for 1 hr.
3. Wash japonica rice and soak for 30 min. Remove from water.
4. Add water used to soak rice in step 3 to clay pot, and then add additional water as needed. Bring to rolling boil over high heat. Add lotus seeds and japonica rice. Bring to boil over high heat, and then reduce heat to low and continue to boil until rice swells.
5. Add lily bulbs and sugar. Continue to boil until congee thickens.
