Aunt Sarah's Apple Pie

4 cups sliced apples (be generous)
2 Tsp flour
2/3 cup sugar
½ t. cinnamon
½ t. salt
1 T. Butter
1 T. lemon juice (optional depending on apples)
1 egg yolk
2T. milk
Anweisungen
Peel and slice apples. Add lemon juice, sugar, salt, flour and cinnamon. Mix slightly and let set until sugar and spices become moist. Arrange in 9” deep unbaked pie sheel. Dot with margarine. Cover with top crust, seal, flute, and pat with mixture of egg yok and milk to facilitate browning. Bake in (375 - 400 ) degree oven 45 minutes. If top is becoming too brown after 25 minutes, temperature may be reduced to 350 degrees to finish baking.
