Dal
Wash dal till water is clear
Soak in 3-4 cups of water for 30 minutes
Dice tomatoes
Drain and add to pressure cooker
Add 2.5 cups of water, tomatoes, chilies, turmeric, and salt, and stir in
Pressure cook for 3 whistle on high heat
Let pressure release, stir in lime juice, and whisk well
Salt to taste
Tadka
Stove on medium-high
Fry aromatics in ghee
Switch off heat and add chili powder
Immediately pour over dal and mix
