Homemade Wonton Soup

For the Wontons:
24 wonton wrappers
½ lb ground chicken or pork
2 green onions, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
For the Soup:
6 cups chicken broth
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
2 cups baby spinach or bok choy
2 green onions, sliced
Vejledning
In a bowl, mix ground chicken or pork, chopped green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper.
Place 1 teaspoon filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Wet edges with water, fold into a triangle, and press edges to seal. Bring corners together and pinch. Repeat with all wrappers.
In a large pot, heat chicken broth over medium heat. Add garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and mushrooms if using. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Carefully add wontons into simmering broth. Cook for 4–5 minutes until they float to the top and filling is fully cooked.
Add spinach or bok choy and cook for 1–2 minutes until wilted.
Taste broth and adjust seasoning if needed.
Ladle soup into bowls and top with sliced green onions.
Serving:
Serve hot and enjoy this cozy homemade wonton soup with chili oil or extra soy sauce if desired.
