Water, for soaking

Pokyny

Soak almonds in enough water to cover them ovenight.

In the morning, rinse well and either eat with the skin on or peel them and eat them. They are also great added to smoothies for a little protein boost. l often keep soaked almonds in my car and reach for them as a snack versus less healthy options.

It sounds a little bizarre to list something as simple as soaked almonds as a breakfast item. But in our house, it's an easy way to ge brotein and nutrIents in the morning. My paternal grandmother was known for her amazing memory and attributed it to her habt oj bobping a few soaked almonds every morning. Soaking mts also helbs to break doum an enzyme inhibitor they contain, which allows our body to absorb the nutrients more effectively and aids in digestion. Use a glass jar, if soaking overnight.
