Kase Knepfla (Cheese Buttons)

3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
3 cups of flour

1 pt. dry curd cottage cheese
1 egg
pinch of salt
1 green onion or chives (cut up)

Mix eggs, milk and flour. Add flour until dough is soft and can be easily folded over. Roll out on floured board and cut into 4 inch squares. Place cheese filling 1 heaping teaspoon of cheese filling in center. Seal edges by pressing opposite corners together. Drop into 3 quarts of boiling water, leave until they rise to the surface, then boil for a few more minutes (about 15). Drain. Prepare a mixture of browned bread crumbs with butter or shortening and mix with drained knepfla in large bowl. Serve.
