4 ounces uncooked spaghetti

1 tablespoon butter

1/2 pound ground beef, or ground turkey or Italian sausage

1/2 cup green pepper, chopped

1/4 cup onion, chopped

14 ounce spaghetti sauce

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

2 eggs

1 cup small curd creamed cottage cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Heat oven to 375°. Grease pie plate, 10 x 1 1/2 inches. Cook and drain spaghetti as directed on package. Place spaghetti in pie plate, pressing down gently.

Melt margarine in 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Cook meat, bell pepper and onion in butter, stirring occasionally, until meat is no longer pink. Stir in spaghetti sauce, chili powder, salt and pepper; reduce heat to medium. Cook 5 to 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thickened.

Mix eggs and cottage cheese; spread evenly over spaghetti. Spoon meat mixture over cottage cheese mixture. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until center is set. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.

Note: If making ahead of time & refrigerating. Chill all ingredients before assembling.

If you would like your dish a little spicier, increase the chili powder to 1 teaspoon.
