Ham and Cheese Perogies

2 cups flour

1 package quick yeast (2 1/4 tsp)

1 tsp salt

[1 tsp sugar - not in original recipe]

1/2 cup melted margarine

1/4 cup lukewarm milk

2 tbsp sour cream

Filling:

1 1/2 cups diced ham (about 200 g)

1 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella

1 beaten egg

Alternate vegetarian filling:

1 cup mozzarella

1/2 cup dry feta cheese

1 package (2 blocks) frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed

1 egg

步骤

Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Make a well in the centre.

Combine wet ingredients, pour into well, and knead into a soft dough. Allow to rest while preparing filling.

Mix filling ingredients together.

Roll to 1/4 - 1/2 inch thickness, cut into 3-inch rounds. Place filling on each round of dough and fold seams closed.

Brush with a beaten egg. Place on a lined baking sheet. Bake at 375 F for 20 minutes until golden.
