Bonnie’s Sugar Cookies

3 cups (381 g with 127 g per cup) flour
1 cup (200 g) sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoons tablespoon salt
1 cup salted butter, softened (2 sticks)
2/3 cup milk
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix together dry ingredients. Cut in butter (you can use mixer whisk if you don’t mix too much) then change to paddle and Add milk, egg and vanilla. Mix until blended but don’t over mix. If too sticky, you may need to add more flour.
Roll onto floured surface to approximately 1/8-1/4” height. Cut with cookie cutters and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Cook for 8-10 minutes. After cooking for 5 minutes, remove to cooling rack.
When cool, frost with favorite frosting.
备注
I usually double this recipe. Do not roll too thin so they are thick and fluffy. I have reduced the milk from the original recipe but if I remember right, it may need a bit more flour. Try to get by with as sticky as possible because as you re-roll scraps, the dough gets more flour and stiffer.
Frosting often used: 4-5 cups powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons softened butter, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, milk to desired consistency. Sprinkle powdered pink lemonade into frosting for a lemon flavor.
