1 cup warm milk

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

1/4 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 1/2 tsp salt

4 cups bread flour

2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast

Mix yeast into warm milk (rest for a few minutes), meanwhile, mix flour, salt, and sugar. Add milk to the dry ingredients and mix together. Beat in the eggs, and then continue mixing. Add softened butter bit by bit, allowing to mix into dough before adding more. Only add as much as the dough can handle.

Rest until doubled, 1-2 hours, then divide into buns. Rest again for about 30-60 minutes, then bake as directed.

For breadmaker: Place all ingredients in bread machine, set to 2lb dough cycle. When cycle is complete, turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Divide into 24 portions; shape into balls.

Place into greased baking pans, cover and let rise until doubled (about 30 minutes). Bake at 375 F for 13-16 minutes until nicely golden brown.
