There’s no better combo than peas and pasta, and this is the recipe I make all spring and summer. It’s light, bright, and my favorite thing to make when I want something easy and delicious in under 30 minutes.

Olive oil

Butter

Shallot, finely diced

Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper

Grated garlic

Dry white wine (optional)

Small pasta (tubetti, ditalini, or similar)

Chicken or vegetable broth

Frozen peas, to taste

Lemon zest and juice

Freshly grated Parmesan or pecorino, or a combination
