German's Chocolate Pound Cake (rdc mod)

1 cup butter (2 sticks), (room temp or close to)

½ cup Crisco

2 cups sugar

5 eggs

3 cups sifted all-purpose flour

1 cup buttermilk

2 tsp cinnamon (try 1 tbsp - rdc)

1 ½ tsp vanilla

1 tsp special dark cocoa (try 2 tsp - rdc)

1 bar (4oz) German sweet chocolate

Cream butter, Crisco and sugar together for 5 minutes

Melt chocolate while creaming, set aside

Add eggs, 1 at a time

Add flour in 1/4s alternating with 1/3s of buttermilk

Add cinnamon, vanilla and cocoa

Add German's chocolate, mix to blended

Butter and flour Bundt pan, put batter in pan and set on middle rack of cold oven and turn on to 315° for 1 hour. Increase to 350° for 20 minutes.

Alt 1: Fold in 1 cup cinnamon chips after the chocolate.

Alt 2: Add a layer of cinnamon-brown sugar. ½ cup brown sugar mixed with 2 tsp cinnamon. Stir together, then put in as a layer between halves of the batter.
