Last and FINAL recipe of the series and it’s always one of the first dishes to go! If I’m completely honest, I’m so proud of myself for doing a 8 part series in such a short amount of time, this was exhausting lol. But I really hope you all love the recipes and give them all a try! 🙏🏼
Recipe: Shrimp Money Bags
1 lb raw shrimp, peeled, deveined and finely minced
1 small onion, finely minced
2 green onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
1 tsp ginger, grated
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp white pepper
1 package of spring roll wrappers, 8” size or square wonton wrappers
Frying oil, canola or peanut oil
Stems of cilantro or thinly sliced strips of green onions, for tying.
Sealing paste—
2 tbsp all purpose flour
2 tbsp water
Optional: Sweet chili sauce or chili oil for dipping
步驟
In a large bowl combine finely minced shrimp, onion, green onions, soy sauce, cornstarch, shaoxing wine, ginger, sesame oil, sugar, salt and white pepper. Mix well for 2 mins until it forms are paste. Set aside
In a small bowl combine flour and water and mix well until it forms a thick paste. Set aside.
Separate one spring roll wrapper and place 1 tablespoon of filling in the center. Brush sealing paste around the perimeter of the filling. Gather the wrapper around the filling, then use your thumb and index finger to pinch and seal into a bag shape.
Heat frying oil in a pot to 350°F. Carefully add the bags and gently move them so they cook evenly, keeping them fully submerged for an even fry. Fry for 3-4 mins or until golden brown and crispy.
Strain from the oil.
Clean cilantro stems well. Pop into microwave for 10-15 seconds to wilt. Tie the stems around the middle of the money bags for garnish and good fortune!
Serve with a side of sweet chili sauce or chili oil for dipping.
