Roasted Apple Slices

1 APPLE, SUCH AS GALA (PEELED, HALVED, GORED, AND CUT INTO 8 WEDGES)

1 TEASPOON OLIVE OIL

⅛ TEASPOON GROUND

CARDAMOM (OPTIONAL)

⅛ TEASPOON GROUND

CINNAMON (OPTIONAL)

步驟

1 Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parch- ment paper.

Place the apple slices on the prepared pan. Toss with the olive oil, and sprinkle with cardamom and cinnamon (if using). 3 Bake until tender, 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and serve whole or cut into small pieces for more advanced eaters.

Makes 4 servings

MAKE AHEAD: Refrigerate for up to 3 days.

To make apples tender enough for beginning eaters, you can steam them or, my favorite method, roast them. Cooked slowly in the oven, the fruit's flavors become even more concentrated and the apples take on an irresistible velvety texture.
