Confit Double-stuffed Challah

If you couldn’t tell, we had the BEST time creating this challah-day masterpiece. 😂
Erin’s sweet and savory confit is stuffed into the dough Licious Style, then the entire braid is wrapped around a ramekin before baking. The end result? A stunning challah with a built-in bowl for extra confit in the center. This way every slice is both stuffed and dipped with deliciousness, making it the ultimate showstopper your holiday table.
Important tips when making this challah:
when making the spread for the filling, use 1/4 cup of the solids in the oil, being sure to drain off excess oil before blending
roll and flatten your strands around 20-24” x 3”

place your spread down the center of each flattened strand, leaving a border all the way around. This will help allow you to lift the dough up and over the filling to seal it in
be sure to use an oven proof ramekin
do NOT spray your ramekin with nonstick spray before whirling your dough around it, this will help it stay in place and allow the dough to stick to itself easier
be sure to keep your ramekin on the baking pan while twirling the dough around it. This will ensure the dough cooks through properly.
rise for 20-30 minutes after the swirling
the challah will bake at 350 for around 35-40 minutes or until golden
