Biscuits (Cheddar Bay)

2 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon sugar

¾ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

4 oz cheddar

1 cup buttermilk

½ cup butter, melted and cooled

Topping:

2 tablespoons butter, melted

½ teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon fresh parsley, minced

Mix dry ingredients together

Mix the cheddar, buttermilk and melted butter together

Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined

Preheat oven to 450°

Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, garlic powder and cayenne together. Stir in the cheddar and set aside

In a separate bowl mix the buttermilk and melted butter until small lumps form

Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and mix until combined. (Don't overmix)

Scoop out dough with ¼ cup measuring cup onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for 12 minutes. While biscuits are baking combine the topping ingredients. Brush the biscuits with the topping as soon as they come out of the oven
