4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup bread crumbs

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided

1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1/4 cup whole milk

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil, plus extra for greasing

Preheat Oven and Grease Dish

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and brush a baking dish with olive oil.

Prepare Breading Mixture

Combine bread crumbs, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish.

Mix Wet Ingredients

Whisk together eggs and milk in a separate shallow dish until well combined.

Set Up Dredging Station

Place all-purpose flour in a third shallow dish for dredging.

Coat Chicken Breasts

Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shake off any excess, dip into the egg mixture, and coat thoroughly with bread crumb mixture.

Pan Sear Chicken

Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes per side until golden.

Transfer to Baking Dish

Arrange browned chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish.

Top with Cheese and Garlic

Stir together remaining 1/2 cup grated Parmesan, mozzarella cheese, and minced garlic. Distribute evenly over the chicken.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the chicken reads 165°F (74°C), and cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve

Remove chicken from oven and serve hot.
