Caramel Apple Pie Bars

Crust & Topping:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (312 g)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup unsalted butter (226 g), cold and cubed

1 cup brown sugar (200 g)

Apple Filling:

4 cups peeled and chopped apples (about 4 medium)

1/4 cup granulated sugar (50 g)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1/4 cup all-purpose flour (30 g)

Caramel Drizzle:

1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and cinnamon. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in brown sugar until evenly combined.

Press about two-thirds of the crust mixture into the prepared pan to form the base. Reserve the remaining third for topping.

In a medium bowl, toss chopped apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour until coated.

Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust. Sprinkle the reserved crust mixture on top.

Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.

Allow to cool completely before drizzling with caramel sauce. Slice into bars and serve.
