Make-Ahead Lasagna (with dry noodles)

12 oz. uncooked lasagna noodles

1/2 t. dried crushed oregano, skip if you're in a hurry

2 (15-1/2 oz.) jars spaghetti sauce

2 c. cream style cottage cheese or ricotta cheese

12 oz. mozzarella, sliced or shredded

步驟

Add oregano to sauce. In 2 - 10x6x2 inch baking dishes, spread 1 c. of sauce on bottom of each dish.

Make layers in this order: Uncooked noodles, cottage cheese, mozzarella, remaining sauce;

Repeat. The trick is to make sure your noodles stay covered with the sauce.

Wrap pan in foil and freeze. Write following directions on foil if you're in the habit of losing your recipes!

To Serve: Thaw completely (in the fridge this will take 1-1/2 days). Bake tightly covered @ 350 degrees for about 45 minutes to an hour, or until edges are bubbly and center is hot. Take cover off during final 10 minutes of cooking. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

I always hesitated before making lasagna because of the extra step of boiling the noodles. This recipe skips that extra step. Now, if only my kids liked lasagna as much as I do! This makes 2 casseroles; Put both in freezer or keep one out for supper. -Lannie
