Crock Pot Oatmeal

•2 Apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
•1 1/2 Cups Milk
•1 1/2 Cups Water
•1 Cup Uncooked steel-cut oats
•1 Tbsp Honey
•1/2 tsp Cinnamon
•1 Tbsp Ground flax seed
•1/4 tsp Salt
步驟
1Coat inside of a 3 quart ( or larger) slow cooker with cooking spray. Add all ingredients to slow cooker. Stir, cover and cook on low for approximately 7 hours. Spoon oatmeal into bowls, add additional toppings, if desired ( chopped nuts, raisins, additional milk, etc.)
Store leftovers ( can measure into 1 cup servings) in refrigerator.
Freezes well
To reheat single servings, put 1 cup oatmeal in microwave proof bowl.
Add 1/3 cup milk. Microwave on high for one minute ; stir another minute, or until hot.
Note- Karen puts the ingredients in a ceramic bowl that fits inside the crock pot bowl. She then pours water in the crock pot up to level of the oatmeal in the inner bowl. She says this works better and the oatmeal doesn't burn around the edges, especially if it goes a bit over 7 hours ( she cooks hers overnight).
