Grámère's Fried Green Tomatoes

Green tomatoes

Milk (or milk substitute)

1/2 cup cornmeal

1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Oregano

Salt

Pepper

步驟

  1. Sliced tomatoes in 1/2-in slices

  2. Mix other ingredients into a medium thick batter, not runny but not cakey. Some trial and error will be needed.

  3. Heat 2-4 tbsp of high heat cooking oil like grape seed oil in a large Skillet over medium heat.

  4. Dip tomato slices and batter, then fry in oil until golden brown, flip and fry other side.

  5. Serve and enjoy!
