Korean Ground Beef and Broccoli

1 pound ground beef
2 cups broccoli florets
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
2 green onions, sliced
Sesame seeds for garnish
Cooked rice for serving

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, stirring for about 1 minute until fragrant.
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Pour this sauce over the cooked beef and stir to combine.
Add the broccoli florets to the skillet, stirring to coat them in the sauce. Cover the skillet and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender but still crisp.
Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve over cooked rice for a complete meal.
