Honey Bun Cake (The Cake mix doctor)

Cake:

1 pkg. plain yellow cake mix

¾ cup oil

1 cup sour cream

4 large eggs

Filling:

⅓ c honey

⅓ cup packed light brown sugar

1 tbsp cinnamon

½ cup finely chopped pecans (optional)

Sugar Glaze:

2 cups confectioner’s sugar, sifted

⅓ c milk

1 tsp vanilla

Instruktioner

Preheat oven to 350°.

Lightly spray 13 x 9 pan with Pam.

Place the cake mix, sour cream, oil, and eggs in large mixing bowl. Blend with electric mixer on low for 1 minute. Scrape down bowl and increase speed to medium and beat 2 more minutes, scrape as needed. Batter should be thick and well blended.

Pour batter into prepared pan, smoothing it out with the rubber spatula.

Drizzle the honey on top of the batter, then sprinkle on the brown sugar, cinnamon, and pecans. With dinner knife, swirl through these ingredients to blend them slightly.

Bake cake until it is golden brown and springs back when lightly pressed with your finger, 38 to 40 minutes.

Remove from oven and place on wire rack to cool while you prepare glaze.

For glaze, place confectioners’ sugar, milk, and vanilla in small mixing bowl and stir until well combined.

Pour glaze over the top of the hot cake in the pan, spreading it to the sides with a spoon.

Allow cake to cool for 20 minutes before cutting.
