1 lb Lean Ground Beef
2 cups Elbow Macaroni (uncooked)
1 large Onion, chopped
1 Green Bell Pepper, chopped (optional but classic)
3 cloves Garlic, minced
1 can (15 oz) Tomato Sauce
1 can (15 oz) Diced Tomatoes (undrained)
1 ½ cups Beef Broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tbsp Soy Sauce (adds deep umami)
2 tsp Dried Italian Seasoning
1 tsp Paprika (Smoked or Sweet)
1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
Salt and Pepper to taste
Instruktioner
1- Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, onion, and bell pepper.
2- Cook, breaking up the beef with a spoon, until the meat is browned and vegetables are soft (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess grease.
3- Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
4- Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes (with their juice), beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
5- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
6- **One-Pot Magic:** Stir in the uncooked macaroni noodles. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 12-15 minutes.
7- **Crucial Step:** Stir the pot occasionally while it simmers to prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom.
8- Cook until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed (it should still be saucy).
9- Remove from heat. Stir in half of the cheddar cheese until melted.
10- Top with the remaining cheese, cover the pot for 2 minutes to let it melt, and serve hot.
