Ingrediente

Rich Tomato Sauce

Yields 6 quarts

oil for pan

5 onions, sliced

6 T dried basil

salt

2 T dried oregano

2 bay leaves

1 t black pepper

3 T garlic

Cook covered on low heat 20 - 30 mins until light brown.

Then add:

4 - 28oz cans peeled tomatoes

1 - 6oz can tomato paste

3 oz butter

Cook 30 mins longer.

Add 1/2 c fresh basil leaves

Puree and strain
