Fruit Cake Cookies (Aunt Adell)

Ingrediente

½ cup shortening

1 cup brown sugar (packed)

1 egg

¼ cup buttermilk

1¾ cups sifted flour

½ tsp soda

½ tsp salt

½ cup chopped pecans

1 cup candied cherries (cut in fourths)

1 cup cut up dates

Instrucțiuni

Mix thoroughly shortening, brown sugar and egg.

Stir in buttermilk.

Sift together flour, soda and salt and stir in.

Mix in pecans, cherries and dates.

Chill.

Drop dough with tsp about 2 in apart on lightly greased baking sheet.

Top each cookie with a pecan half or half of candied cherry.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes in 400° oven.
