Slow Cooker Teriyaki Beef Recipe

1kg chuck steak

1-2 bunches broccolini or heads of broccoli

1 cup beef stock

1 ½ cups white rice

To serve: chopped spring onions & sesame seeds

3 tbsp corn starch + 3tbsp water

Sauce:

1/2 cup soy sauce or tamari

1/2 cup maple syrup

4 cloves minced garlic

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tbsp minced ginger

2 tsp Dijon mustard

Wskazówki

1.In a bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients.

2.Add the chuck steak, prepared sauce, and beef stock to the slow cooker. Stir to combine, then cover with the lid. Cook on low for 6.5–7 hours or high for 4.5–5 hours.

3.About 30–40 minutes before the end of cooking time, shred the beef into chunks using two forks. Add the chopped broccoli or broccolini, along with the cornstarch slurry (cornstarch mixed with water until smooth).

4.Continue cooking until the sauce has thickened. If needed, remove the lid and switch to the high setting to help reduce the liquid.

5.Cook the rice according to packet instructions.

6.Serve the beef over steamed rice and garnish with spring onions and sesame seeds.
