Brown Gravy

Składniki

1/2 cup cold water

1/4 flour or rice flour (this can be a generous 1/4 cup, not leveled)

1/2 teaspoons salt

2 1/2 cups broth and or drippings

Wskazówki

Mix first 3 ingredients in a shaker bottle well.

Bring broth to a boil. Pour mixture from bottle into boiling broth gradually as whisking continually to keep the flour mixture from going lumpy.

Boil the gravy stirring continuously for 2-3 minutes adding more salt to taste if necessary. If it seems too runny you can mix a bit more flour and water to add. It will thicken more as it cools.

If it seems too thick, you can whisk in more water-even if reheating for a later meal.

Notatki

This makes about 2 cups gravy so if more is needed it can be adjusted. You may not need to add as much water to flour mixture if a lot of gravy is being made (mixture can be thicker as long as it will mix well in the bottle).
