Because it’s rich in protein and fibre and is also bursting with polyphenols it’s perfect for boosting your energy, stabilising your blood sugars as well as boosting the hormones that keep you full up for longer and increase your satiety.
This is particularly special because of the dried pink dragon fruit powder called Pitaya powder. But don’t worry if you haven’t got any, you can substitute it for any dried berry powder such as açai, blueberry or haskapa berries, I like @haskapa
One bowl contains 30 g of protein, 10 g of fibre and is abundant with polyphenols from the berries, dragon fruit powder, tahini, Chia seeds and flaxseeds. In fact the bright pink colour in the dragon fruit is down to a polyphenol known as betacyanin. This has antioxidant properties and turns everything it touches bright pink.
You can make up your own seed mix like this.
Wskazówki
Add the following to a jam-jar:
Remember this amount makes more than one serving!❤️
50 g Chia seeds
50 g milled flaxseeds
50 g milled hemp seeds,
1 tablespoon berry powder or pitaya powder
You can change the amount of seeds depending on what you have in your cupboards, you could even use pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds or whatever you have available.
Gut boosting breakfast
200 g Greek yoghurt (10 g protein 100 g)
2 heaped spoons of your seed and pitaya mix ( around 30g)
100 mls milk or kefir
Selection of berries as a topping
Drizzle of tahini
Allow to sit for 20 minutes to allow the Chia seeds to swell and enjoy. This breakfast always puts a smile on my face because it’s such a pretty colour! Hope you enjoy it.
also, I think there is a link to the pitaya powder on my Amazon shop on my bio XX
