Homemade Blue Curaçao

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 1/2 cups orange peels

1 cup white rum

1 cup water

Food coloring

Create an oleo saccharum by combining the orange peels and sugar and letting them sit covered for 12-24 hours.

Next, add the rum, and then the water (a little bit warm is helpful for dissolving the last stubborn sugar crystals).

Stir to combine, then remove the peels and strain the liquid through a fine mesh strainer.

Instructies

Add blue food coloring until the liqueur reaches your desired shade.
