Southern Baked Spaghetti

Ingrediënten

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend

1 teaspoon parsley flakes

1 lb ricotta

1 egg, large

1/2 tablespoon Italian seasoning

1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheddar

1 cup shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend

1 lb spaghetti

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 lb lean ground beef

1 cup diced yellow onions

48 oz marinara sauce

1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Instructies

Preheat oven to 350F.

Cook spaghetti according to directions on the package.

Drain and set aside.

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.

Add the ground beef to the pot.

Add the diced onions to the pot.

Crumble the ground beef well as it cooks.

Once the ground beef is fully cooked, reduce the heat to low and drain the grease from the pan.

Add the marinara sauce and 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning to the pot and stir well.

Add the cooked spaghetti to the pot and stir until all of the noodles are coated in sauce.

Dump the ricotta cheese into a mixing bowl.

Add the egg and 1/2 tablespoon of Italian seasoning to the bowl and stir well.

Add the shredded parmesan cheese and one cup of the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend to the bowl and stir well again.

Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish well with cooking spray.

Scoop half of the spaghetti mixture into the baking dish and spread it out evenly.

Scoop all of the ricotta mixture over the spaghetti in the baking dish and spread it out evenly.

Scoop the remaining half of the spaghetti mixture over the ricotta.

Sprinkle the remaining one and a half cups of shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend on top.

Place the baking dish in the oven and bake the spaghetti until it's bubbling and the cheese is just starting to brown around the edges. 35 - 40 minutes.

Remove the dish from the oven.

Sprinkle the parsley flakes on top.

Serve and enjoy!
