Steph’s Granola

3 cups (720 mL) large flake oats
1 1/2 cups (360 mL) barley flakes or just use more oat if that’s all you have
1/2 cup (120 mL) oat bran
1/2 tsp (2.5 mL) salt
2 cup (240 mL) almonds, pecans, hazelnuts, etc coarsely chopped
1/2 cup (120 mL) each pumpkin seeds, flax etc
1/2 cup (120 mL) vegetable oil
1/4 cup (60 mL) water
2/3 cup (160 mL) maple syrup (or honey, or a combination)
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla
Fremgangsmåte
In a large bowl, combine the first eight ingredients. In a smaller bowl, whisk together the oil, water, honey and vanilla. Combine the wet and dry mixes and stir thoroughly.
Spread the mixture out onto two baking sheets «pria two batches). Bake at 250°F for 20-30 minutes. Stir the mixture every 10 minutes to ensure even baking and remove from the oven when golden brown. Cool and stir in the dried fruit. Seal and store for up to 1 month.
