Ingredienser

225 grams (8ozs) Self Raising Flour

2.5 ml (1/2 tspn) Salt

50 grams (2 ozs) Butter

150 ml (1/4 pint) Fresh Milk*

*Extra milk for brushing

NB1: Add Cheese/Sultanas for Cheese/Fruit scones

NB2: Need: Butter, Fresh Cream, Jam, Whipped Cream or Cheese – To Serve

Fremgangsmåte

Sieve flour and salt into a bowl

Rub butter into flour – until resembles breadcrumbs

Add milk all at once.

Mix into a soft, but not sticky dough, with a knife

Turn mix on to a lightly floured work surface, knead quickly until smooth

Roll out to 1” or 25mm thickness

Cut out into 7-8 rounds with a scone cutter

Transfer on to a greased baking sheet and brush with milk

Bake at 230 degrees C/450 degrees F/Mark 8 - for 7-10 minutes, or until risen and golden

Cool on wire rack
